A neighborhood restaurant is only as good as the room it keeps. Meet the partners guiding Germantown Café today — and the lineage that opened the doors in 2003.

Sean started his career as a teenage busboy, interned in the kitchens of Michael Jordan's One-Sixty Blue and the acclaimed Boka Restaurant Group, and eventually ran kitchens across the country with Hillstone Restaurant Group. After fifteen-plus years on the line, he stepped away to tour the country as a professional ballroom dancer — and yes, he can prove it.
In 2018 he returned to hospitality, partnering with Dream Hotel Group to build several concepts that have since become destinations for locals and visitors alike. Germantown Café was always his go-to in the neighborhood — somewhere along the way, "go-to" turned into "let's see if we can build the next chapter together."
Jeff is a fifth-generation Nashville native born with a natural calling to the kitchen. His love for cooking started early and got serious when he took his first restaurant gig as a teenager. He sharpened his knives at Jackson's Bar & Bistro and Rumba before walking through the doors at Germantown Café in 2008.
He hasn't left. Over the years, the Café has become home, the guests have become close friends, and his teammates have become team. As chef and partner, Jeff serves the neighborhood his classic American cuisine, with a Southern twist and a dash of French technique — mentored by Tom Sheffer and the original Germantown Café founders, Chris Lowry and Jay Luther.

At Up Hospitality Partners, we believe hospitality starts from the inside out. When our teammates grow, our guests feel it. When our culture is strong, our restaurants and community thrive. This is a place where you matter.
We're always looking for great talent — front of house, back of house, and behind the bar. If you live nearby, eat nearby, or want to, come introduce yourself. The best people we've hired walked in for a meal first.
Take care of the room. Read tables, time courses, know the menu cold, and treat regulars like regulars and new guests like future ones. Hospitality is the job.
Run a station, push tickets, hold standards. Whether you're sautéing, plating, prepping at 6am, or breaking down at midnight, the kitchen runs because everyone shows up ready.
Build classics with care, work the rail on a busy Friday, and keep the conversation going. Cocktail experience helps; a good attitude and quick hands matter more.
